Up at 4am to practice the songs before heading to Church at Nolensville at 6am for full band rehearsal.
We had a good morning of worship. The team was David & AnnRose (Burch), Logan (Bennett), Brian (Popin), Jackson (Thatcher), Sam & Bunmi (Sesin), and Savannah.
I was home by 1pm to have lunch and relax. Then I took the trash and some of the downed limbs from the storm to the dump. It was a good day to have access to an old truck.
Speaking of the old truck, the blinker and high beam light switch has been needing replacement. After chatting about it with Claude, I ordered a $30 replacement off Amazon, and decided today was just as good a day as any to try and fix it.
As soon as I started taking the old switch out, the actual switch itself willingly came dislodged, like a baby tooth that just needed a slight wiggle to come out.
It took about an hour to replace the whole switch. The hardest part was removing the plastic pieces around the steering wheel, then getting them back on. I referenced this YouTube video, which was vey helpful.
It probably would’ve been easier to remove the moulding pieced if I’d have removed the steering wheel, but then I’d have had to deal with disconnecting the battery and the airbag, and I wasn’t feeling that ambitious today.
As it turned out, I was able to get the plastic moulding back on. It just took applying more pressure than I probably should’ve, and risked snapping the plastic in the process. Fortunately, no plastic was snapped.
The F-150’s high beam lights haven’t been functioning properly, and I’d assumed it was due to this multifunction switch. After I got the new switch in, it felt more solid and the blinker was working better. However, the high beam lights still weren’t working. After a bit more research, I checked the fuse box and found that it was missing the high beam fuse. A quick $15 trip to Advance Auto remedied that (because I had to buy an assortment of fuses instead of just the one fuse I needed).
For dinner, I grilled some chicken breasts on the Pit Boss pellet grill.
Weston was working at the pool, and Turner went to hang out with Cade. Traci and I ate, then I walked Trek, then we finally started watching the final season of The Bear.
