This Week I Learned – September 8 through 14, 2019

• Jealousy can be a great motivator to improve, as in my case when hearing another bass player playing a fill I hadn’t thought of before.
• Numerous facts about Lenny Kravitz’s background, and the recording of “Are You Gonna Go My Way,” all of which can be reviewed in my Kravitz and Quinoa Bass Cover Video.
• A fusion hard drive is Apple’s attempt to make a hybrid of a hard disk drive and a solid-state drive. In my experience, it’s inferior to solid-state drives.
• In 2017, the Boy Scouts allowed their first transgender member.
• Rick Lewis, the voice of Audible’s intro, “This is Audible,” and outro, “Audible hopes you have enjoyed this program,” has died. I have literally heard that latter line over a hundred times in the past 3 years. I’ve even tried to mimic it on long, boring, solitary drives. Rick’s voice will live in my head forever.
