The Pits: Up at 3am and couldn’t go back to sleep because I was thinking about travel- and work-related stuff.
The Peaks: Aaron and Julie picked me up at 5:30am and we made it to the airport by 6:00am. There was hardly anyone in the security line, which was good. However, they pulled aside my carry-on bag for inspection, which took about 10 minutes. They didn’t find anything, of course, and we were on our way.
The flight to Salt Lake City was fairly smooth and we landed around 10am MST. We grabbed our rental Cadillac and headed to the studio to greet our colleagues and then out to lunch at Crown Burger. I was reminded that the last time I was here was in May 2011 for the first Production Summit meeting.
We checked into our rooms at Hotel Monaco, then went back to the studio for our scheduled meetings. We went back to our hotel at 6pm, where I was just in time for a complimentary glass of wine from their nightly Wine Social. I Skyped with the boys, then went to Market Street Grill for dinner with Aaron and his dad and brothers. We had lively discussions about guns, cars, glass blowing, and their past experiences. After dinner, Aaron and I said our goodbyes to their family and walked back to our hotel. It was a beautiful night but we were both too tired to walk around the city. I went back to my room, read a bit, then conked out.
