Gratitude: The smell and look of a freshly-tended yard. The Pits: Because of a questionable call on the part of Weston’s coach–allowing the team to score so we could get the ball back with a minute and twenty seconds left
Gratitude: Daddy getting transferred to a step-down facility in Winchester. Getting stitches removed from gums. The Peaks: Turner was up early to practice his recorder on the porch, and he ended up passing his “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” test today.
Gratitude: Papaw being able to sit up in the “turtle shell” body cast. The Peaks: I visited Vanderbilt today and, for the first time since Saturday, was able to talk with my dad. He was awake and was getting ready
Gratitude: Being able to visit with my family on my afternoon walks. Dinner on the porch while the boys played with the bouncy balls they got from the dentist, until Turner got Weston’s ball stuck on the roof. The Pits:

Papaw had knee replacement surgery yesterday at Baptist Hospital. I took the boys up for a visit today. My dad pulled through the surgery well, but got a little sick from the anesthesia. Other than being sore, uncomfortable, and tired,
