Gratitude: Flowbee. Earplug case. The Pits: Heat. The Peaks: I was off work a little early to spend the afternoon with the family. We went to the park to play football and I managed to coax the boys into posing

Gratitude: Daddy getting transferred to a step-down facility in Winchester. Getting stitches removed from gums. The Peaks: Turner was up early to practice his recorder on the porch, and he ended up passing his “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” test today.

Gratitude: Papaw being able to sit up in the “turtle shell” body cast. The Peaks: I visited Vanderbilt today and, for the first time since Saturday, was able to talk with my dad. He was awake and was getting ready

Gratitude: Being able to visit with my family on my afternoon walks. Dinner on the porch while the boys played with the bouncy balls they got from the dentist, until Turner got Weston’s ball stuck on the roof. The Pits:

Gratitude: Time to visit with the family at the hospital. Dad’s gradual improvement. Nice weather for Weston’s flag football game and the Beck concert. The Pits: Today is my mom’s birthday, and while it may turn out to be one
