Alex Garland tells a story of a lifestyle that I envied and a beach that I longed to be at. Even with the hints of disquieting circumstances, I wanted to remain on that beach for as long as possible. And though I was sad when I closed the book and had to leave the beach, I look forward to visiting it again someday soon.
