Seaside Trip 2017 – Day 1: Much Traffic

The Pits: Traffic. Took us over 10 hours travel time.

The Peaks: Traci and I were both up early to get our stuff done and get things packed so we could get on the road early. I dropped off Trek at Emily’s while Traci packed up the car, then we were on the road around 8am.

We hit a lot of traffic on I-65. We took an exit and travelled the back roads to the Whataburger on Exit 238. We need to avoid this one in the future. The parking is horrible and it’s usually really busy, and was even moreso with today’s traffic.

We ended up getting off the interstate for good on exit 168. We hit a few snags here and there, but it was still much better than the interstate. We arrived at our Bungalow around 6:30pm. The Tateuchis weren’t far behind us. We grabbed pizza from Angelina’s and dined by the pool, letting the kids play until 9:45pm. It was a nice end to an otherwise hectic day of traveling.
