The Pits: I had to make Turner to write-offs of the word “juicy” because he kept using it as a potty word for everything. It started off with 50 write-ups, then worked up to 100 because he couldn’t stop himself from saying it.
The Peaks: The boys built a secret clubhouse in our backyard, but it was technically in our neighbor, Mrs. Fran’s, yard.
We took the boys to the crucifixion experience at our church. It was a neat setup, but the walkthrough took too long and I could tell the boys got bored early on. They were more excited to get to the library book sale before it closed. Fortunately, we made it just in time and I let them pick out 3 books each. I got Shift, by Hugh Howey, and All The Pretty Horses, by Cormac McCarthy, all for $4.
