A little over a year ago, I took a very similar shot of the road next to our home. Since we got a few inches of snow tonight, I figured it’d be a good time to do a remake.
I wasn’t planning on being outside long, so I just put on my sandals and trudged my way to the end of the driveway. Luckily, I got everything set just in time to capture a salt truck heading down the hill. The flashing lights creating some neat patterns with the 15 second exposure.
Another truck with flashing lights came down the hill after the salt truck, so I captured it as well (see below). I saw another car coming the other direction, so I quickly recomposed the shot for it.
It was good timing. I was outside less than 5 minutes and it just happened to be the right 5 minutes.
That’s where my luck ended though, because as soon as I got back inside, my loving pregnant wife forbade me to get on the couch next to her to warm up. So, I just had to tough it out by trembling in the corner with blue toes.
